Wrapped Up My Summer Internship at Samsung Research America.
Just wrapped up my summer internship at Samsung Research America (SRA), on the RAN1 Standards team.
I spent the summer working on the Downlink Wake-Up Signal (DL-WUS) design for 6G. My piece was studying candidate sequences and running link-level simulations. On the outcomes side: five invention disclosures filed over the summer, three of them as first inventor and two as co-inventor.
Huge thanks to my mentor Hongbo Si, my manager Eko Onggosanusi, and the whole team for the guidance and support! I learned a tremendous amount and it has been a genuine pleasure to contribute to 3GPP standardization.
Presented Our Paper at IEEE DySPAN 2026.
Just wrapped up presenting our paper on Enhanced Random Backoff Designs for 5G NR at IEEE DySPAN 2026 — analyzing RACH instability under incumbent preemption-induced reattach bursts and proposing new dynamic-backoff schemes. Patent filing is on the way. 🔥🔥🔥 (joint work with Zongyun Xie, Igor Kadota, Randall Berry)
Presented Our Paper at IEEE DySPAN2025.
I had the privilege of presenting our paper “Compete or Coordinate? Analysis of Spectrum Sharing Strategies for Local Wireless Services”. Huge thanks to my incredible co-authors for their collaboration and guidance throughout this project Zongyun Xie Igor Kadota Randall Berry Carlos Caicedo William Lehr!
Received Best Student Paper Award at IEEE WiOPT2024!
Thrilled to share that our paper, "Impact of Geographical Separation on Spectrum Sharing Markets," co-authored with Zongyun Xie, Igor Kadota, Randall A Berry has received the Best Student Paper Award at the IEEE 22nd International Symposium on Modeling and Optimization in Mobile, Ad hoc, and Wireless Networks (WiOPT) 2024!
Presented Our Paper at IEEE ICC2024.
Had a great time at IEEE ICC 2024 presenting our work "Market Impacts of Relaxed Incumbent Protection in Spectrum Sharing," co-authored with Prof. Randall Berry. Great to meet our alumnus Dr. Cheng Chen, now a Wireless Standards Engineer at Intel!
Received Best Paper Award (Policy Track) at IEEE DySPAN2024!
Thrilled to share that our paper, "Market Impacts of Pooling Intermittent Spectrum," co-authored with Prof. Randall Berry has received the Best Paper Award (policy track) at the IEEE International Symposium on Dynamic Spectrum Access Networks (DySPAN) 2024!
Passed PhD Qualifying Exam.
This is the first milestone of my PhD journey!
